Coprieta Standard
Hi Everyone,

I haven't had a lot of interaction with the MicroWiki community, so I don't know most of you and most of you more than likely have never heard of me. As such, it's a pleasure to meet you all!

I've been participating in micronationalism since 2001 and my primary contribution has always been on the news media front and in writing about the history of the Internet micronational community through RIMA. Some of you may remember Micronations.net when it had discussion forums - I was one of the administrators responsible for those forums and I spent a lot of time administering the old Micronations.net Wiki (since offline and my attempts to restore the database for reference purposes have encountered many technical errors unfortunately).

I recently relaunched my Coprieta Standard news service and my goal is to have it provide as much coverage across the traditional simulationist community and MicroWiki community as possible. I've had some success in meeting this goal; however, my knowledge of the MicroWiki community is rather limited. I know where the online forums that some MicroWiki communities maintain are located (i.e. FRA1, Nemkhav, Freedomia, OAM-hosted micronations), but I suspect these represent only a few. While I understand that many MicroWiki micronations operate macronationally, if there are forums out there for your micronation that I'm not aware of - that is, not mentioned above - I'd certainly appreciate it if you would be able to provide a link as I'd like to add as many forums as possible to my list when I go looking for news to report on.

RIMA / Coprieta Standard is located at http://www.micronationhistory.info. I apologize for the missing images on the front page of the site, as it was recently hacked and I'm still in the process of restoring the old image database. The RIMA website presently has ~1050 news and history articles published to it dating from the year 2000 to the present day. The article archive is always expanding, and there will be more articles from 2000-2002 added in the near future, for those history buffs out there.

I've seen a few biased comments regarding the simulationist community posted by MicroWiki micronations, but I'd like to just say that regardless of what you think of the simulationist community, it isn't all fictional/fantasy based. Many simulationist micronations, while not looking for real territory, have aimed to create serious governments and communities and there have been many successful initiatives by that community over the past decade and a half. Many simulationist micronations started out exactly as MicroWiki micronations did in the early years of our community - offline dreams of creators evolved into online micronations that have citizens from around the world who have worked hard together to develop vibrant and unique communities. There is a wealth of knowledge in that community and its history and I encourage those who are interested to browse the RIMA archives. The simulationist community has learned many lessons in its history that can provide an educational perspective on current matters such as micronational economics, diplomacy, operating a micronation through the Internet, etc. The RIMA archives are another learning resource if you wish to make use of it and I believe you may find useful information there, or at least a pointer to that information, which may prove relevant.

I appreciate any links to forums that you can provide to help me expand the Coprieta Standard's coverage of the MicroWiki community.

Cheers,
Liam
